About the Invitational
The Dogwood Pacesetters, as the host of the
2006 BC/Yukon AAC Regional
Championships, are inviting the best regarded handlers
from each region of British Columbia and the Yukon to
participate in the first ever Dogwood Pacesetters Regional
Team Invitational.
Each
region - Vancouver Island, BC/Yukon Interior, and the
Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley - will be given an opportunity to put
forward by way of nomination, one Mini Team and one Maxi
Team in Regulars, Specials, and Veterans categories to
represent their Region.
Each team will consist of three dogs from a
maximum of 2 height classes to run one International class
Jumpers course and Standard course. Their combined
times plus faults for both events will determine the winner.
Each region will have an
opportunity to nominate candidates to form their team
(remember that this is a team event and consistency is just
as important as speed); these candidates will be contacted
and given an opportunity to either
accept or decline the
nomination; an appointed selection committee will then
invite 3 candidates in each category, and one alternate, to
form their region's team at the competition. These teams
will be the honoured guests of the Dogwood Pacesetters
at the BC/Yukon
Regionals.
This event is an opportunity to celebrate
the best agility teams in the Region and amongst the
regions. Let's come together to recognize these
talented teams in the spirit of competitiveness.
There are two heights classes that qualify
for each regions category:
-
10" and 16"
Regular dogs would make up the Regular Mini Team and the
22" and 26" dogs can be nominated for the Maxi Team.
-
6" and 10"
Specials dogs would make up the Specials Mini Team and
the 16" and 22" dogs would make up the Specials Maxi
Team.
The scoring will be a time plus faults
system cumulative over all 3 team members and both events.
Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes will be awarded to the teams.

About the Dogwood Pacesetters

The
Dogwood Pacesetters Canine Sports Club is one of the
oldest Canine Sports Clubs in the Lower Mainland of British
Columbia. Beginning in 1986, the club has sponsored activities,
demonstrations, classes, and competitions in Flyball, Drill Team,
and Agility. We have a strong and diverse membership of over 50
active members, and host at least one AAC sanctioned trial each
year. 2006 will mark the Club's 20th Anniversary and we wish to make
it a year to remember.
